Passport Support and Privacy Requests

Last updated: October 19, 2026. For the limited iPhone beta.

Passport is operated by Kevin Garand. For app help, privacy requests, moderation concerns, copyright complaints, or security reports, email kevingarand@berkeley.edu.

Include your Passport username, app version, a brief explanation, and any relevant error message. Do not send passwords, Apple authorization codes, access tokens, private keys, or another person's private information. This is a small beta, not an emergency or continuously staffed service.

Suggested email subjects: “Passport help,” “Passport privacy request,” “Passport content report,” or “Passport security report.” Redact sensitive details from screenshots. For an immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency service rather than waiting for a reply here.

Account deletion

In Passport, open Edit profile → Account & safety → Delete my account, then confirm with Apple. This removes the active account, associated app records and uploads, and revokes Apple authorization. No support email is required for the normal in-app flow. Signing out, deleting the app, or stopping TestFlight testing does not delete your account.

If the app reports deletion did not finish, retry or email us. We may need to verify account ownership before completing a support request. See the Privacy Notice for limited report, backup, and service-log retention.

If you signed in with Apple but never completed beta onboarding, an authentication record may still exist. Use the available account-deletion action or contact us for help removing that record. You do not need to become an admitted tester to ask for deletion.

Joining the beta

Install the current build, sign in with your own Apple account, and accept the beta terms if you are at least 18. No separate invite code is needed. Signups may be paused or full at 50 accounts. Contact us if you need help; do not repeatedly retry a full or paused beta. If your app still asks for a code, update to the latest build. TestFlight installation invitations are separate from Passport account signup.

Access, export, correction, and privacy

Email us to request a copy or correction of your account data, deletion assistance, or other applicable privacy rights. We verify ownership before releasing information and do not include other travelers' private records in an export. You can also edit content, change sharing settings, and manage history/personalization in the app.

Abuse or content complaints

Use Report/Block in the app, or email the username and item involved with a concise explanation. You can also request a review of a moderation decision. Blocking limits access inside Passport; it cannot recall screenshots or other copies already obtained.

For a copyright or other rights complaint, identify the work or right, the exact item and account involved, how we can contact you, and whether you are the rights holder or authorized to act for them. Supply enough detail to locate the issue without copying or redistributing harmful content. We may request further information to assess or resolve the complaint.

Security and accessibility

Report suspected security problems privately. Describe what happened and provide a minimal reproduction using your own test account where possible. Do not access, download, alter, or disclose another person's data, disrupt the service, or test beyond your authorization. Do not email live credentials or private keys. This contact channel is not a bug-bounty program or permission to perform unauthorized testing.

For accessibility help, describe the screen or task, your iOS/app version, and the assistive technology involved if relevant. Tell us your preferred accessible response format. We welcome reports about VoiceOver, text sizing, contrast, or difficulty using a control; do not include medical records.
